Winter Days

Our little darlings are exhausting. Or maybe it's me, their mother, who tries to do too much with them. Mark's been working nights and sleeping days lately, but the kids and I have managed to do a few fun things. The snow is nothing like Michigan or Montana (we haven't even had enough to make a decent snowman!) but the kids enjoy flying off of our neighbor's slide in their snowpants. A blessing and a curse on these long winter days has been the kids' newfound interest in 25-piece puzzles. A blessing in that it occupies Evan for a good 10-20 minutes on his own (expect for the occasional whine, "Mom I no know where it goes!"; a curse in that when they get overexcited the children like to gaily toss the puzzles in the air, scrambling the pieces everywhere. And this evening, Mark had woken up and we tried watching the superbowl while entrusting the kids to play downstairs together for awhile sans supervision. Mistake. End result: a hole in the wall after Autumn threw a toy chair into their "fort." Her explanation: they were fending off the dragon. AHHHH!
